Announcing the selected artists for the Choreographic Residencies!
We at the Fundación Antonio Gades are thrilled to announce the selected projects for the new edition of our PASOS TRES choreographic residencies in Getafe.
In this open call, we received proposals of an exceptionally high standard that reflect the great health and diversity of contemporary creation. The submitted projects stood out for their plurality of languages—ranging from Spanish Dance and contemporary flamenco to urban dance, immersive art, and physical theater—and for their thematic depth, exploring issues such as historical memory, the shadows of motherhood, the exhaustion of a hyper-productive society, technological isolation, and the limits of human interaction.
The jury in charge of the selection, composed of Eugenia Eiriz (General Director of the Fundación Antonio Gades), Sandi Tijerín (Culture Coordinator of the Getafe City Council), Ana Cabo, and Marco Blázquez (Co-directors of Cultoría), met to deliberate last Wednesday, June 3rd at 1:30 PM.
After a difficult deliberation process, the eight selected projects that we will host in this edition are:
- Carla Prado (Fuenlabrada, Madrid) with her project Habla de mí, cuenta de ellas, Spanish dance.
- Colectivo Banquet (Madrid) with their project LO NUEVO, contemporary dance.
- Elephant in the Black Box / Jean-Philippe Dury (Madrid) with his project Cuerpo legible, contemporary dance.
- Marina Walpercin (Castelldefels, Barcelona) with her project De tu libertad, Spanish dance.
- Ntamo Performance / Graciel Stenio (Loeches, Madrid) with his project INERTIA, urban dance.
- OGMIA / Eduardo Vallejo (Madrid) with his project FAUST, contemporary dance.
- Romane Ruggiero (Basel, Switzerland) with her project Those Who Still Breathe, contemporary dance.
- Sara Arévalo (Getafe, Madrid) with her project Humana, demasiada piel, Spanish dance.
Congratulations to all the companies and creators! We are looking forward to seeing how these pieces take shape in our spaces.
